Mr Val Usatoff is a specialist in the area of Liver(Hepatic), Pancreatic and Biliary Surgery.
After completing his General Surgery training at the Alfred Hospital, he went on to do 3 years of advanced Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery training in the UK. There he completed post fellowship training at the Hammersmith Hospital in London and the Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. Mr. Usatoff finished his time overseas working in the Liver Transplant Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham as the Australian HepatoPancreatoBiliary (HPB) Association Fellow where he developed an interest in the use of Radio-Frequency Ablation for liver tumours.

Mr Usatoff has a position as a HPB Surgeon with the HPB Unit at the Alfred Hospital where he has previously coordinated Basic Surgical Training. He is also a HPB Surgeon with the Upper GI Surgery Unit at Western Hospital. He has Honorary appointments as a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Monash University and a Lecturer in Surgery at Melbourne University and is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at both.

Mr. Usatoff is on the Gastrointestinal Cancer Subcommittee of the Victorian Co-operative Oncology Group for the Cancer Council and is one of the founding  committee members of the ANZ HPB Association.
